Huge forest fires destroyed homes, barns, animals and acres of woodland in our part of PEI in August and September of 1960. My mother, Vivian Phillips, kept a scrapbook of newspaper clippings over those weeks, and that scrapbook has become a popular reference tool for school students and history buffs. Unfortunately the scrapbook has become fragile with age, so I have transcribed it and made it available here for download.
